za podpory Ciocia Czesia kolektiv Výstava v ArtivistLabu, která představuje sérii prací “Group Practices” vizuální umělkyně a aktivistky z Polska Liliany Zeic, je její první prezentací tvorby v České republice. Projekt zahájený v roce 2019 obsahuje sérii rozhovorů a fotoportrétů skupin feministických aktivistek působících v různých polských městech, které jsou spojeny s Black protest nebo Women’s Strikes – celonárodním hnutím reagujícím na pokusy omezit zákon o potratech v Polsku. Během setkání se skupinami z měst jako Bydhošť, Toruň, Kladsko nebo Poznaň se Zeic zaměřuje na zkušenosti, výzvy a cíle oslovených aktivistů a aktivistek, stejně jako na myšlenky společenství, které praktikují. Cyklus tak odhaluje pozadí aktivistické práce, reflektuje neviditelnou práci, prekarizovanou infrastrukturu a osobní vztahy jako jádro odbojové praxe.
U příležitosti výstavy v Praze bude cyklus doplněn o práci pražského kolektivu Ciocia Czesia, který byl k projektu přizván. Ciocia Czesia, která vznikla na podzim roku 2020 během velkých pro-choice protestů v Polsku pod hlavičkou Ogólnopolski Strajk Kobiet (Celopolská stávka žen), poskytuje pomoc polským občanům s přístupem k legálním a bezpečným potratům v České republice. Je součástí sítě Abortion Without Border sdružující podobné organizace působící v dalších evropských zemích jako jsou Německo, Rakousko nebo Nizozemsko. Po dobu trvání výstavy bude ArtivistLAB sloužit jako dočasné útočiště pro CC, které jim poskytne fyzický prostor pro jejich provozní záležitosti a rozvoj.
Liliana Zeic (Piskorska) – narozena v roce 1988, výtvarná umělkyně žijící ve Vratislavi, doktorka výtvarných umění, aktivistka. V roce 2017 dokončila doktorandské studium na Fakultě výtvarných umění v Toruni. V roce 2011 studovala na Varšavské univerzitě. Ve své umělecké praxi analyzuje společenské otázky z feministicko-queer perspektivy, zabývá se tématy queer a neheteronormativity a čerpá ze svých zkušeností výchovy a dospívání v regionu střední/východní Evropy. Pracuje s videem, fotografií, objektem a textem, vytváří intermediální a performativní projekty založené na výzkumu. Je finalistkou Forecast Forum v Haus der Kulturen der Welt v Berlíně v roce 2017 a vítězkou Ceny diváků: Views 2019 v Národní galerii umění Zachęta. Zúčastnila se více než 100 samostatných a skupinových výstav v Polsku i v zahraničí. Její díla jsou součástí soukromých i veřejných sbírek (mj. Národní galerie umění Zachęta, Muzeum současného umění ve Vratislavi, Městská galerie Arsenal).

“Group Practices”
Liliana Zeic featuring Ciocia Czesia collective exhibition at ArtivistLAB presents the work series “Group Practices” by polish visual artist and activist Liliana Zeic is the first presentation of her work in the Czech Republic. The project started in 2019 contains a series of conversations and photo portraits of feminist activist groups operating in different cities in Poland that are connected to the Black Protests or Women’s Strikes – the nationwide movement responding to the attempts to restrict abortion law in Poland. During the meetings with the groups from the cities like: Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Kłodzko, or Poznań, Zeic is focussing on the experiences, challenges, and goals of the interviewed activists as well as the ideas of collectivity they are practicing. Therefore the cycle reveals the backstage of activist work, reflecting on the invisible labor, precarious infrastructure, and personal relations as the core of resistance practice.
On the occasion of the exhibition in Prague, the cycle will be completed with the work of Prague-based collective Ciocia Czesia invited to participate in the project. Established in the autumn of 2020, during the major pro-choice protests in Poland under the umbrella of Ogólnopolski Strajk Kobiet (All-Poland Women’s Strike), Ciocia Czesia is providing help to polish citizens with the access to the legal and safe abortion in the Czech Republic and is part of the network Abortion Without Border associating similar organizations operating in other European countries, like Germany, Austria or Netherlands. For the duration of the exhibition, ArtivistLAB will be serving as the temporary shelter for CC providing them with physical space for their operational affairs and development.
Liliana Zeic (Piskorska) – born in 1988, Wrocław-based visual artist, PhD in fine arts, activist. In 2017 she finished her PhD studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Toruń. In 2011 she studied at the University of Warsaw. In her artistic practice, she analyses social issues from the feminist-queer perspective, deals with the topics of queerness and non-heteronormativity, and draws on her experiences of being brought up in the region of Central/ Eastern Europe. She works with video, photography, object, and text, creating intermedia and performative research-based projects.
She is a finalist of the Forecast Forum in Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin in 2017 and the Audience Award Winner: Views 2019 in Zachęta National Gallery of Art. She has taken part in over 100 individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her works are part of private and public collections (incl. Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Wrocław Contemporary Museum, Municipal Gallery Arsenal).
